It is always best to start with the basics.

A blog (a contraction of the term "weblog")[1] is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
That almost works for us. We will endeavor to distinguish between blogs.

That is, Personal Blogs will be evaluated separately from Food Blogs, as Technical Blogs will be differentiated from Security Blogs and those from Satire Blogs and those from Link Aggregation Blogs and those from News Blogs and those from Blond Blogs on and on and on and so it goes.

There will be cross-overs. We will treat the Phil Specters and Joe Liebermans of blogs as…well; we’ll torch those bridges when we come to them.

The Editors welcome all comments.

We are not fond of screeds, but we will tolerate even those if common sense prevails. Should common sense depart, so will your comment. We may or may not leave a place-holder indicating such.

Common sense (on this blog) is the wholly owned property of The Editors and not subject to useful debate.

If your comment has vanished, you may assume you violated Common Sense as We define It and try again.
